Discover the excitement of biathlon!
Biathlon is a fun and dynamic sport that combines cross-country skiing and precision shooting. Private lessons are available from age 7, while taster sessions and courses are open to children aged 8 and over—making it the perfect activity for discovering new thrills in the great outdoors.

Alternate between a cross-country ski circuit adapted to your ability and a 10-metre shooting range, where you'll combine physical effort, concentration, and precision. Depending on age, participants use either laser or pellet rifles, always in complete safety under the guidance of experienced esf instructors.

Whether you're trying biathlon for the first time, joining a multi-activity camp, or choosing private coaching, there's a package to suit every level and every ambition.

FAQ

Is insurance included with my lessons?
No. esf does not provide insurance cover for participants.
  • Ski lessons do not include insurance covering rescue costs on the slopes. We recommend taking out ski insurance when purchasing your ski pass.
  • You should also check the cover provided by your travel insurance, home insurance or payment card to ensure you are protected for winter sports activities.
Is the ski pass included with cross-country skiing and biathlon lessons?
  • No. The trail pass is not included in the lesson fee and is required to access the cross-country ski trails. Please make sure you have a valid trail pass before your lesson begins. It can be purchased directly from the Beille Nordic Area.
What is the difference between classic and skating?
There are two cross-country skiing techniques:
  • Classic technique:
This style is practised on prepared parallel tracks. The movement is similar to walking, with alternating strides that propel you forwards. Natural and easy to learn, it is the ideal technique for children and beginners.
  • Skating:
This technique is practised on groomed snow without set tracks. The skis are angled in a "V" shape, and the movement is similar to ice skating. More dynamic and physically demanding than the classic technique, it requires greater balance, coordination and control. It is best suited to experienced skiers or those with a good level of fitness.
What equipment should I bring for a biathlon lesson?
Introductory biathlon lessons are available using either the classic or skating cross-country skiing technique.

If you're new to cross-country skiing, we recommend choosing the classic technique.

Please also bring:
  • Sunglasses.
  • Prescription glasses, if required.
  • Waterproof trousers, if possible.
